Edward Charles Johnson, transitioned from this earthly life at Mercy Regional Medical Center on February 6, 2021. He was born in Hazen Alabama on April 26, 1954 to Anna Johnson and Charles Mooney. He was one of fourteen children.
Edward attended Keith Highschool in Orrville Alabama as a youth. He later moved to Lorain, Ohio as a teen where he then graduated from Southview Highschool. After Highschool he served time in the US Army. After his term in the Army he was employed by US Steel for several years and then found his true passion as a chef for several restaurants throughout Lorain County. He took great pride in his culinary skills.
Edward aka (Eddy) or (Moon) was beloved by family and friends dearly. He was known for bringing joy to all. He enjoyed playing chess, cards, cooking for the family and music of all genres. He was a humble and loving man and Father who will be greatly missed.
Edward Charles Johnson leaves behind to always cherish his memory his sons Edward D. (Helen) Benjamin, Brandon S. Johnson, his grandson Shavar Patrick Jr. He is survived by several sisters, brothers and a host of nieces and nephews. His sisters include Eddie Mae Jones, Rozita Lewis, Vivian Irby and Rachel Johnson all from Orrville, Alabama and sister Gloria Powell from Detroit Michigan. His brothers include Clyde Johnson, Wyatt Johnson, Willie Johnson, Johnny Johnson and Gilbert (Fannie Mae) Johnson all from Orrville, Alabama.
Edward was proceeded in death by his wife Sheila L. Johnson, Mother Anna Johnson, Father Charles Mooney, two bothers and one sister.
The Celebration of Life will be Wednesday February 17, 2021 at the Church on the North Coast 4125 N Leavitt Rd. Lorain, OH. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am until the funeral service commences at 11:00 am.
