DeWayne McBride, 74 affectionally known as “Wayne” and “MAC”, of Sheffield Village, Ohio made his transition from life to eternity on Thursday February 20th, 2025, surrounded by Family. He was born on October 17, 1950, to Joseph Holsey and Myrtle McBride in Detroit Michigan.
As a young man, Wayne accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. He attended Detroit public schools and later attended Lorain County Community College to study Business.
Wayne was a Family man full of life. A Son, Husband, Father, Grand Father, Great Grand Father, Brother, Uncle, God Father and a Great friend to many. He was an Avid music lover, loved traveling the world, dressing up to step out and attending family-centered events. Wayne was an Entrepreneur, He owned and operated “McBride and Associates”, “Ten-Ten Remodeling”, and Retired as a Private Contractor.
DeWayne leaves to cherish his memory: The love of his life for over 50 years; wife, Claretta (nee Woolfork) McBride; Children: Demeka nee McBride (Andre) Williams of Euclid, Ohio, James Woolfork Sr., Elyria, Ohio, Andrea nee McBride (Myles) McQuater of Richmond Heights, Ohio, and Ladesia Woolfork of Sheffield Village, Ohio Sister; Desma Faye Russell, Detroit, Michigan. (6) Grandchildren and (8) Great – Grandchildren, A loving mother – in – law, Rose Sampson of Elyria, Ohio; whom he affectionately called “Momma”, and God Son, Steven Phillips of Jacksonville, NC. Sisters in law; Rosiland Woolfork-Holston, Vanessa Woolfork; Harriet Morgan and Edwina Johnson all of Elyria, Ohio. Brothers in Law: Marvin Woolfork and Robert Sampson, Elyria, Ohio, Eddie Sampson (Cleveland, OH) and Michael Mobley of Savannah, GA. Along with a host of Nieces, Nephews, extended family and friends.
DeWayne was proceeded in death by his father; Joseph Holsey, Mother; Myrtle McBride, Stepmother; Vinnie Holsey. Uncle; Lewis McVeigh, Sisters; Shirley Watson, Barbara Goodwin, Irma Jackson, JoAnn Cavitt, Marvetta Woolfork, Roxanne Woolfork and Brother; Bobby McBride.
