Dan W Horton

Mr. Dan W (Dickie) Horton marched peacefully into his heavenly home on April 21, 2023, at the age of 71. Dan was born to Dan W. Horton Sr. and Doris V. Horton on July 19, 1951, in Elyria, Oh.

Dan was employed by Stanadyne. He enlisted in the US Navy for 4 years. He received his chef license in the US Navy and became the captain's personal chef. Dan was blessed to travel around the world. He then worked for Grafton Correction Center and Lima Correction Center as the main chef where he retired.

Dan enjoyed cooking, cutting grass and plowing snow for anyone who was in need. Nobody was a stranger to Danny. He had a smile and laugh that was contagious to anyone he was around. 

He will be missed by his 2 brothers Jack Horton, John Horton (Connie Horton), 4 sisters Dorothy Carol Price, Nellie Fay Jackson, Mary Ann Horton, Catherine Cross Shelton (Ronald Shelton), best friends Diane Harris from Courtland, Virginia and Dave Kellam. Border Greg O'Connor and host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Goldean Dickerson Horton, his parents Dan W. Horton Sr and Doris V. Horton, sister Linda V. Charley.

Friends and family can visit on Friday April 28th, 2023, at Second Baptist Church 427 Chapman Ln Elyria, Ohio at 10am with service to follow at 11am.
