Cynthia Alston

Our dearly beloved Cynthia Alston 59, of Lorain, Ohio went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly Thursday, January 9th, 2025, surrounded by her family and loved ones at Cleveland Clinic. She was born July 19, 1965, in Choctaw, Alabama to her parents, Johnnie Lee Alston and Jane (Ezell) Alston.

Cynthia grew up in Lorain, Ohio. She graduated from Clearview High School. Cynthia was employed at Wesleyan Village, where she was an outstanding caregiver. She was an artist; she loved doing crafts. Her work was even displayed in an art show. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Cynthia also loved music and dancing.

Cynthia will be deeply missed by her children Janatus Alston and Ebony Alston; grandchildren Avante Moore, SinCere Griffin, Janatus Alston Jr., Jaiden Alston , Brian Alston , Janiah Alston , Cynthia Alston, Jeremiah Alston, Syree Alston, Hazel Alston; Great Grandchildren King Griffin, Ayana Moore, and Kaysen Collazo; brothers John Alston of Lorain, OH, Henry Chess of Talladega, Alabama; sisters Juanita Harris of Louisville, Ky., Brenda Jenkins of Lorain, OH, Mattie Lee Capers, and Vickie James of Ward, Alabama; and a host of loved ones.

Cynthia was preceded in death by both of her parents, Johnnie and Jane Alston, brother Gregory Alston, and sister Annie Hubbert.

Cynthia’s memorial service will be held with family and friends Friday, January 31st, 2025, located at Shiloh Missionary Church 3900 Clifton Avenue, Lorain, Ohio 44055. Viewing from 10:00 am to 11:00 a.m. and funeral services will follow at 11:00 am. Burial will be held at Elmwood cemetery following the service.
