Crystal Allene Tolbert a kind hearted, strong, and a beautiful soul are some of the words used to describe Crystal Allene Tolbert (52) of Columbus, OH. Born November 9, 1967 in Oberlin, OH, to John and Shirley A. (Adams) Tolbert, Jr., she unexpectedly transitioned to her final resting place on October 13, 2020 in Columbus, OH.
Growing up, Crystal attended Mount Zion Baptist Church in Oberlin, where she was an active participant in the youth choir and the Jr. usher board. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized by the late Rev. Dr. Fred L. Steen, Sr.
She attended Oberlin City Schools and maintained high academic standards. She loved sports and participated in volleyball, basketball, cheerleading, and track and field. Her hard work and dedicated training paid off in her junior year as she was a member of the 1985 state champion track and field 4 x 100 relay team. For three years she attended Toledo University. More recently, she attended Ehove Career Center where she was enrolled in nursing courses, studying to become an LPN.
