Obituary

Dr. Clara Mae White affectionately known as “My Momma” was born
on December 17, 1941 to Haze Jones and Clara Jones (English), in Olcott, West Virginia 

She leaves to cherish her memory 5 daughters, 3 sons, Clara’s children
are Clara D. Goodridge(Jerry); Sam Willie Hairston, III; Patricia A.
Jones(Micheal); Ronald E. Hairston, Sr.; Barbara L. Phifer(Cedric);
Juanita E. Hairston-Powe(Nathan); Mary A. Bond(Galen), and Julian T.
Hairston, numerous grandchildren, great and great-great
grandchildren; sisters: LueCelia Jones, Be$y Lou and Nina Thomas; a
host of relatives and friends.
Clara accepted Christ as her Savior in May 1977; the Call Out Church of
the Almighty God, Elyria, Ohio, Bishop Willie J. Cooper, First Lady
Evangelist Gertrude Cooper.
Clara joined St. Peter Church of God In Christ in 1978; Pastor Edward
Jones Jr., and late First Lady Blondean Nelson Jones. Clara obtained her
missionary license; the late Bishop Robert L. Chapman and the late
supervisor Mother Ellen Pettigrew, Ohio Northwest Ecclesiastical
Jurisdiction. Clara was Assistant Sunday School Supt. and Teacher;
Prayer and Bible Band President and Teacher, local and district; District
Finance Secretary, Women’s Department; and worked in the Women’s
Department. The church moved from Elyria to Lorain in 1991.
The Lord led Clara back to The New St. Peter COGIC, Lorain, Ohio. Supt.
Edward Jones, Jr., and jurisdictional supervisor, late Blondean Nelson
Jones, where she continued to teach Adult Sunday School. Clara is a
member of and secretary of the Mother’s Board Teachers of Prayer and
Bible Band Missionary Circle. Clara works in the Women’s Department,
local, district, and state. Clara was appointed District Missionary of the
Central Unity District in July 2015. Clara continued the work of the Lord
until being called home.

Dr. Clara White earned her PhD from Partners to the Promise School of
Christian Education on June 21, 2020.
Dr. Clara White was preceded in death by her parents, Haze and Clara
Jones; brothers, Louis Temple, John Jones; sisters, Evelyn Gilliam,
Ianthy Barnes, Mary Eanes and Deloris E. Edmondson.

Viewing will be held Friday 12 2021, for at 4:00pm until 6:00pm at New St Peters 3301 Broadway Ave, Lorain, Oh 44052

Services will be held Saturday at 9:00am until 11:00am  at New St Peters 3301 Broadway Ave, Lorain, oh 44052
