Billy D. Whitfield was born on October 10, 1964, in Oberlin, Ohio. He lived in Lorain County for most of his life. On January 30, 2023, he transitioned from this Earth after battling health issues. In his youth, he was a golden glove champion in heavyweight and super heavyweight boxing; he did Kempo karate and judo, in which he obtained the highest awards in each sport he played. He liked to spend his time with his family and friends and go to new places, and try new things, he was also an avid gamer (destiny), and he collected comic books. He was the life of the party that people loved and flocked to. Billy never met someone he didn’t like as he was a people person.
Billy is survived by his wife and partner for 30 years Delia Whitfield, as well as his three children and two godchildren. Shakari (Jeremy) Whitfield, Jaden (Cierra) Whitfield, and Tyrese Whitfield, his godchildren Gilbert (Elizabeth) Soto, Angilena Gocher, and his nieces, nephews, and grandchildren that he loved dearly. Billy is also survived by his siblings and stepfather, Eric (Carol) Whitfield, Lisa Pool, Tonia (Allen) Whitfield, Mary (Tony) Allison, Theresa (Ray) Cheers, Billy Armstrong, Katy Armstrong, and stepfather William Benjamin.
Billy is preceded in death by his parents, Maxine Whitfield, Billy G. Whitfield; Aunts and uncles, Mary Maben, Charlene Jordan, and Bubble Crook; John “Sam” Whitfield; Sylvia Hodge, nieces and nephews, Desiree, Michael, and Toni Kapri.
A celebration of life will be held at Phazes Sports Bar on February 11th, 2023, at 3 pm at 2089 North Ridge Rd E Lorain, Ohio 44055, where food and music will be provided. Just come in dress casual to celebrate the life of Billy D. Whitfield
