Bertha Mae (Stokes) Henderson

Bertha Mae (Stokes) Henderson, 90, of Elyria, Ohio, surrendered to her sweet Savior's voice on Wednesday October 1, 2025, at 5:23am with her children at her bedside.

Bertha was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi on March 15, 1935. She attended school in Clarksdale and after getting married she and her husband relocated to Elyria, Ohio. She retired from Lear Romec in 2007. Sister Henderson was a loyal member of the Good Shepherd Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Larry Harville.

She is survived by her children: Kenneth (Terri), Andrew, Sharon, and Lynne, grandson Triston (Latoya), two great grandchildren: Samantha and John, sister-in-law DeeEtta Henderson and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents: father Lee Kelly Stokes, mother Ethel Mae Stokes, and stepmother Tennie Mae Stokes, she was preceded in death by her husband Wallace Henderson, brothers: Isiah and Alec Stokes, and Arthur Thomas, sisters: Rosie Mae Stokes, Bernice Liner, Pearline Henderson, Savannah Young, and Elizabeth Owten.

A visitation will be held on Saturday October 11, 2025, at 10am and a Celebration of Life to begin at 11am located at Good Shepherd Church 244 9th St Elyria, OH 44035.

Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery 41600 Oberlin Elyria Rd Elyria, OH 44035.
