Arturo “Toby” Norfus 64, of Lorain, Ohio passed unexpectedly on March 8, 2021.Toby was born August 27, 1956 to the proud parents of Doris and Andrew Norfus. He was a football star and graduate of Admiral King High School. He was a retiree of Ford Motor Company but also easily and affectionately known as, a jack of all trades. Outside of work he was a master barber, completed home renovations and landscaping projects.
Toby dedicated many years of service to the church, including Friendship Baptist Church, New Hope Church and New Covenant Baptist Church, where he proudly served on the usher board. Toby will always be remembered by his boisterous personality, keen sense of fashion style and the way he ripped up the dance floor.
Leaving behind to cherish his memory and miss him beyond measure are his children, daughter NaKetta Marie (David) Patterson , son Desmond Ross, daughters Ashley Marie Norfus, Alisha Dawn Norfus, and Aaliyah Nicole Norfus, his wife Gwendolyn Shorts-Norfus, siblings Doris Jean Teart, Randy O. Norfus, Allan Norfus, Twila Walton, 10 grand children, special friend Valerie Gaines and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Toby was preceded in death by his parents Doris and Andrew Norfus and brothers Lawrence James Norfus and Kenneth Earl Norfus.
Services will be held Monday, March 15 at 11:30 AM at the Church on the North Coast 4125 N. Leavitt Rd., Lorain OH 44053. Repass to immediately follow. Please Social Distance and wear a Mask. Live stream 15 min before service at www.facebook.com/CarterFuneral
