Archie Lee Bates II

Archie Bates born October 30, 1951, to Flossie Smith and Archie Bates Sr. Born in Covington, Tennessee. Archie relocated to Elyria, OH where he passed away on September 14, 2025, after a long illness.

Archie graduated from Frazier High School where he was part of the marching band. He later received his BS degree from Lane College located in Jackson, TN.

Archie was a business owner/CEO of his own antique store. He loved fishing, creating businesses and collecting antiques.

Archie leaves to cherish and honor his memory his daughter Deanna Montague (Nashville, TN), son Archie Bates III (West Port, NY), sisters: Delores Brown (Milwaukee), Stella Taylor (Elyria, OH), Bernice Bates (Franklin, TN), Vernell Jordan (Milwaukee).

Archie is preceded in death by mother Flossie, father Archie, brother Oscar Bates, daughter Dionne Montague and sister Vernita.

A viewing will be held on Saturday September 27, 2025, at 10am and a Celebration of Life will be held from 11am-12pm located at Carter Funeral Homes Inc 127 W Bridge St Elyria, OH 44035.
