Annie Ruth “Shug” McIntosh (78) of Elyria, gained her wings on March 5, 2019 in the University Hospital of Elyria, following a long illness. She was born in Standing Rock, AL., coming to Elyria in 1964.
Mrs. McIntosh was employed as a head cook for the Elyria Methodist Home (aka) Wesleyan Village, after 20 plus years of service. Also, she was a personal driver for Bishop and Evangelist Cooper for many years.
She was a member of the “Call Out Church of the Almighty God” where she served as district (Head) Church Mother, sung in the mass choir, and worked on the kitchen committee.
She enjoyed cooking, shopping, and an avid sports fan; Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Cavs, and being with family and friends.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Sharon BoMarc of Elyria, and Meka (Gregory) Miller of Oberlin; son, Michael (Ameena) Martin of Fairborn, GA.; 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ernest (Bernice) Cofield of Elyria, OH., Willie (Beverly) Cofield of Cleveland, OH.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by parents, Ernest Jr and Louise Cofield; 4 sisters, and 1 grandson.
Friends may call Monday, March 11, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m., at the Call Out Church of the Almighty God, 7809 West River Rd S, Elyria, OH 44035. Evangelist Gertrude Cooper will officiate. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria. Funeral services and arrangements entrusted to Carter Funeral Homes, Inc., 127 W.
