Wendy Michelle Davis, 44, of Elyria, Ohio, earned her wings on Wednesday March 20, 2019, after complications from surgery. Wendy was born May 21st, 1974 to Brenda K. and the late Charles Davis where she was the youngest of three children. She was employed as an Eligibility Referral Specialist for Lorain County Job & Family Services. Wendy accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a member of Temple of Praise Missionary Baptist Church of Cleveland, where she served on the culinary committee. Wendy was known and loved by many. She never met a stranger. Her smile and bubbly personality lit up any room whenever she walked in. If there was karaoke, you were guaranteed to be serenaded. Her melodious voice was music to your ears. A graduate of Elyria West High School, Class of 1992. She then attended Akron University. Graduating from Dudley Cosmetology University (95’) in Greensboro, North Carolina. Lastly, earning an Associates Degree (Cum Laude) from Everest University in 2012. She was an active member of UAW Local 2192, Lorain County Coalition of Labor Union Women, Elyria Unit of NAACP. Grand Deputy District 2, Amaranth Grand Chapter Inc. State of Ohio, Order of the Eastern Star, PHA, Past Matron of Martha Chapter #35, Oberlin, Ohio. Past Commandress of Al Lalim Court #205, Elyria, Ohio. She leaves to cherish her life: her mother, Brenda K. Davis, Elyria, OH, her two brothers: Terry E. Davis of Chicago, IL and Reginald T. (Lucretia) Davis of Louisville, KY. Half sister, Rozia Fenn of Lorain, OH. Devoted great niece, Alaila (Booka) S. Davis of Elyria, OH. A host of uncles, aunts, nieces, a nephew, great nephews, cousins and cherished friends. Calling hours will be Friday, March 29th, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home 127 W. Bridge St., Elyria, OH 44035. The Order of Eastern Star service will be at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 30th, 2019, 11:00 a.m. at True Vine Primitive Baptist Church 737 W. 18th St., Elyria, OH with Pastor Walter R. Houston of Temple of Praise Missionary Baptist, officiating. Family calling hour is 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Wendy was preceded in death by her father Charles Davis, grandparents; William and Mary Holt, Daniel and Carlee Davis.
