Obit of Valeria Harris Valeria “Mama V” Hentchey – Harris of Elyria passed away peacefully on February on February 25, 2017 at the University Hospital Regional Medical Center of Elyria following a long illness. Valeria was born in Belvidere, TN coming to Elyria at an early age. Valeria was a graduate of Elyria High School class of 1956, a graduate of MBJ School of Nursing in Elyria at Elyria Memorial Hospital and she received her Bachelor Degree in Nursing from LCCC. Valeria worked for the Elyria Memorial Hospital for 20 years and she was also an Occupational Nurse for General Motors Corporation retiring in 2009. Valeria a member of the Living Word Church of Lorain and a former member of the Original Glorious Apostolic Church of Elyria where she served a choir director, she also started the King’s kitchen and helped on numerous boards at the church. She was President of the board of Agape Youth Ministries of Lorain County. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, fishing, painting, reading, cross word puzzles, sewing and spending time with family and friends. She will be sadly missed by daughters, Paulette Barnes and Shelle Mathis both of Elyria, and sons, Clint (Chastity) Harris, of Elyria and Kimmy Harris of Lorain, 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and her 3 dogs, Mr. Chauncey, Biggie and Ms. Paige. Preceded in death by her parents Albert and Donnie Lou Hentchey and daughter Lisa Lynne Noble. Friends may call Friday, March 3, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. in the Faith Ministries Christian Center, 1306 Euclid Ave., Lorain, OH. Pastor Diana Lindsey will co-officiate and Apostle Sammy C. Smith of Grace Cathedral Ministries of Greenville, SC will give the Eulogy. Burial will follow in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria, OH.
