Tricher “Pat” Gooden was born on January 12, 1946, in Belvidere Tennessee. She moved to Elyria, Ohio with her family at the age of 13. She attended and graduated from Elyria High school.  She met and married the love of her life of 39 years, Bennie “Ben” Gooden. Although they had no children from this union, she was a mother to her stepchildren.

Pat loved worshipping and serving the Lord. She faithfully attended Faith Ministries, Lorain, Ohio until she was no longer able.  She enjoyed cooking, sewing, watching/listening to basketball and football games but she really enjoyed ordering off of the home shopping network. She had a good sense of humor and a great memory. She loved to talk and laugh about the good old days.

She departed this life on Thursday, January 11, 2018 after a brief illness at Wesleyan Village Nursing Home. She leaves to cherish her memory, her stepchildren, David Lee (Diane)Gooden; Dennis Earl (Janet) Gooden; Elaine Gooden-Young; and Linda Deneice Gooden; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; her mother, Dimple (Walter) Lawson; sister, Stephanie (Sonny) Wilson; brothers, Henry (Terri) Perkins, all of Elyria, OH; Floyd Taylor, Chattanooga, TN and a hosts of uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Gooden, father, Rufus Taylor, maternal grandparents, Elera and Charlie Taylor, three sisters, Henrietta Wilson, Doris Taylor and Wytonia Moore.

Homegoing Celebration will be on Friday, January 19, 2018, at Original Church of God, 312 Edward Ave., Elyria, Ohio, Family Hour, 10:00am, Service, 11:00am, Pastor Diane Lindsey, Faith Ministries, Officiating
