Thomas Allen Smith, 46 of Elyria passed away Sunday, September 3, 2017, at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, MO.

He was born January 10 1971, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Oberlin, to the parents of Harold Perkins Sr. and Lizzie Smith.

In April of 2012, he married his childhood sweetheart, Rebecca R. Overly-Smith and resided in Sedalia, MO.

Thomas was employed at Lithonia Lighting, Perkins and Bob Evans in Lorain County and Twin Oaks-Royal Oaks ISU in Sedalia MO. He was a lover of music, enjoyed visiting family and was avid Cleveland sports fan. He was a member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Elyria, Ohio.

Thomas will be remember as a fun, loving, and devoted family man. He was especially proud of his newest granddaughter and was also anticipating another addition to the family. Thomas touched so many lives and will be greatly missed by many!

He was survived by his wife, Rebecca Overly-Smith; his grandmother Anne L. Bogan; his five children: Olivia Smith, Hannah Smith, Shara Lee, Richard Campbell and Briana Parks; his three grandchildren: Jayden, Laci and Lilianna; his brothers Christopher (Wakisha) Smith, Harold Perkins Jr. and Arthur Perkins, all of Lorain, Oh.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Perkins Sr. and Lizzie Smith, his grandparents, Leartis Smith, Rev. Richard Murray and Elwood Bogan.

Celebration of Life will be Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Unity Baptist Church, 326 Fuller Road, Elyria, OH 44035. Rev. Dr. Willie Gardner, Officiant.
