Obit of Thelma Harris-Bland Thelma “Selma” James Harris-Bland 63 of Lorain, made her transition to Heaven on October 15, 2017 in the Avon Oaks Health Care following a long illness. She was born in Magnolia, AR coming to Lorain in 1958 and was a graduate of Southview High School Class of 1974. Thelma attended Greater Noel Tabernacle Church of God in Christ in her Youth. She enjoyed babysitting, cooking and celebrating with family and friends. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 16 years, Larry Bland, sons: Lamont Jackson and Travis Jackson both of Lorain, a daughter Sierra Harris of Lorain, stepdaughters: Soynika Boykin and Kara Boykin, stepsons: Quami and Shariff all of Pontiac, MI, grandchildren: Lucinda, Sierra, Elisa Santos all of Lorain, 14 other grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, sisters: Barbara Moore of Elyria, Peggy Daniels of Columbus and Denise Harris of Lorain, brothers: Lonnie (Talanya) Harris of Elyria, John Harris of Lorain and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by parents Sydney and Clara Harris, brothers James, Jimmy and Marcus Harris and a sister Regina Harris. Friends may call on Saturday October 21, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. in the Call Out Church of The Almighty God, 7809 West River Rd., South, Elyria, OH 44035.
