Shameka Joy “Mek-Mek” Andrew-Hairston went home to be with the Lord, December 28, 2018 in the Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain, following a sudden illness.
She was born in Lorain and had worked for Elyria Plastic Inc., of Elyria and McDonalds of Elyria.
She attended Second Baptist Church of Lorain, and St Peter’s COGIC, Lorain.
She enjoyed being with her children, dressing, singing and dancing, family, and friends.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Julian T. Hairston of 10 years, daughter, London Hairston; sons, Julius Hairston and Julian Hairston both of Lorain, Caden Alston, Jyere Alston both of Elyria, Mehki Curry of Lorain; sisters, Keena Cavin of Columbus, Oh., Brittany Andrews of Lorain, Ashamiee Andrews and Shanasha Andrews both of Indiana.; brothers, Hakeem Cavin of Elyria and Eba Andrews of Columbus; mother, Eileen Andrews of Lorain; maternal grandparents, Eugene Cavin of Cleveland ,Ohio; nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Tracy Cavin; father, Clyde Thomas; maternal grandmother, Hope Hampton Cavin; and paternal grandmother, Anne Thomas.
Friends may call on Monday, January 7, 2019 in the Second Baptist Church, 300 West 13th Street, Lorain. From 11:00 am until time of service at 12:00 noon. Pastor Loversier Lewis, officiate.
