Obit of Joyce M. Allen Joyce M. Allen 75, of Elyria, formerly of Carrier Mills, IL, went home to be with the Lord on December 16th, 2016 in the Wesleyan Village following a long illness. She was born in Peoria, IL coming to Elyria in April 2016. Mrs. Allen was a Clerk for the VA Administration, retiring after 20 years and also for Golcond Job Corps in Illinois. She he enjoyed fishing, bowling and had a caring love for President Obama. She is survived by 2 daughters: Sophronia “Ginger” Bradford of Springfield, MO, Shaun Gutierrez of Elyria, 5 grandchildren: Adam Bradford, Shawna Johnsen, Calvin Robinson Jr., Estaban Gutierrez and Cheyenne Gutierrez, 1 great-grandchild, mother Vera Henson of Illinois, sister Betty Strauder of Detroit, MI, brother Garrie R. Allen Jr., of Illinois, granddaughter-in-law Jessica Robinson, grandson-in-law Adam Johnsen and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by father Garrie R. Allen Sr. and son Zephaniah Taylor.
