Janice M. Turner “Momma T” 61 of Elyria, made her transition into heaven on January 13, 2018 following a short illness. 

She was a lifelong resident of Lorain County.  However, she was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan.  She left Detroit, MI, in her early twenties and moved Elyria to make a better life for her and her children.  Ms. Turner, was a Nurses Aid for several years at the Welcome Nursing Home, Oberlin, OH. 

She enjoyed reading bedtime stories to her grandchildren and spending lots of time with them.  She would frequently visit their schools and spend time with them in their learning. 

She will be sadly missed by her sons: Gabriel Turner, Prince Turner and Jay (Betty) Turner of Elyria, brother Jeff Turner of Elyria, nephew Maurice Turner of Elyria, 4 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother Francis Canady Turner, father George Turner, brother Gabriel Turner (military) and aunt Lizzie King.

Friends may call Thursday, January 17, 2018 from 12 noon until time of service 1:00 p.m. in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, 3001 Elyria Ave., Lorain, OH 44055.
