Obit of Gertrude Campbell Gertrude ‘Grannie’ Campbell 88, of Sheffield Lake, went home to be with the Lord on August 4, 2017 in the Mercy Regional Medical Center of Lorain following a sudden illness. A lifelong resident of Lorain County, spending most of her life in Sheffield Lake. Mrs. Campbell was employed as a medical Technician for Elyria Memorial Hospital retiring after 35 years of service. She also worked for the Lorain School System for Aramark Food Service for 17 years. She was a former member of Bethany Baptist Church in Elyria, where she was the church organist for many years. She enjoyed shopping, gaming, being with her grandchildren, other family and friends. She will be sadly missed by her grandson Andre D. Campbell of Lakewood, sister Dorothy Gray of Sheffield Lake, son-in-law John West Beard, Jr. of Lorain, a niece Andrea (Ricky) Lurry of Lorain, many great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter Deborah Y. ‘Debi’ Beard, parents Wilbur and Frances Greene, 2 brothers William and Louis Greene, 3 sisters Geraldine Qualls, Margaret Greene and Elisa Greene.
