Edgar Lane Obituary

 

Mr. Edgar Lane, passed away January 25, 2018 in the Hospice of Medina County. He was born January 6, 1934 in Aberdeen, MS and was raised in Memphis, TN.

‘For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him shall have everlasting life’ John 3:16 was his favorite scripture.

Edgar served in the Air Force for 4 years, from February 26th, 1953 to February 25th, 1957. He was honorably discharged and received ‘The National Defense Service Medal. He served during the ‘Korean War Conflict’ a wartime.

He was employed by General Motors Parma Plant for over 30+ plus years and was a member of the U.A.W.1250.

Edgar was a deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and member of Fellowship Baptist Church for over 30 years and was one of the founding members of Fellowship Baptist Church in Medina, OH.

He was considered to be a ‘kind and nice’ man to the many people in the community of Medina and other places. He liked to go fishing and to the church gatherings and activities.

Edgar is survived by sons: Edgar M. Lane, of Kentucky, Martin L. Lane of Winterpark, FL, David C. Lane of Akron, Timothy (Azalea) Lane of Cleveland and Allan N. Lane of Akron, daughters: Maylene E. (Scott) Miller Dayton, Rhonda M. Lane of Medina, 3 grandchildren: Scott Josiah, Alisia and Celine Cameron.

 He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Marlene (nee Jackson) Lane and a son Robert Francis Lane.

One of his favorite sayings was: God Is Good…All the Time.

Friends may call on Friday February 2nd, 2018 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Baptist Church, 901 W. Liberty St., Medina, OH 44256 where Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday February 3rd, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Rev. John Peterson, Officiant. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Carter Funeral Homes, Inc., 127 West Bridge St., Elyria, OH 44035.
