Douglas Eastin Obituary

Douglas W. Eastin 66, of Elyria, passed away February 1, 2019 after a long illness. Doug was born on September 25, 1952 and raised in Oberlin and made his transition in the Autumn Aegis Nursing Home.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching movies, and Ohio teams sports and loved spending time in downtown Oberlin. He also volunteered for several churches in Oberlin, assisting with breakfast meal programs.

He is survived by a son Kenyon Fields of Elyria, a brother Julius P. ‘Jay’ Eastin, sisters: Lisa B. Flanders (Gerald Jr.) of Elyria, Jocelyn C. Cash of Alabama and Rebecca L. Eastin of Elyria. He also leaves behind grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends whom he dearly loved and cherished. The family would also like to thank all the nursing staff and hospice team at Autumn Aegis for the care and support during his transition.

He was preceded in death by parents Julius L. and Dolores F. (nee Lawson) Eastin and sister Leandra C. Williams Pasadyn.

Friends may call on Saturday February 9, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, 127 W. Bridge St., Elyria, OH 44035. Rev. Larry D.
