Clinton H. Carter 70, of Elyria, passed away Wednesday, November 13th, 2019 at his home. Clinton was born July 13th, 1949 to his mother Jeanette E. Lumpkin Carter-Cook and father Milton C. Carter. Clinton was drafted in to the Marines during the Vietnam War during 1967 –1968 and served as a Private. Upon his return Clinton, resided in his childhood home while taking care of his mother. Clinton was an avid outdoorsmen. He was a friend to many as he enjoyed helping others when ever he could. Clinton was a member of Veterans Post 20 and 32. In which he continued his military service to his fellow brothers and sisters in arms by joining the Honor Guard. While in the Honor Guard, Clinton assisted in funeral services while bringing comfort to many families. Clinton is survived by his wife Terrie L. Carter, his two sons: Cyrus (Stacey) Carter of Columbus, OH, Justin C. (Denise) Carter Lorain, OH, his daughter Stephanie Robinson of Lorain, OH, 6 grandchildren, step-sons: David M. Blaine, Jayson Blaine, Lamar Fisher, step-daughter: Tamicka Fisher, 10 step- grandchildren, sister: Florence Blount, and a host of many cousin’s, niece’s, and nephew’s. Clinton was preceded in death by his parents Jeanette and Milton, his sisters Joyce Draper, Jeanette Johnson, Betty Moore, and Beulah Taylor, his brother’s Henry Carter, Eddie Carter, Paul Carter, and John Carter. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, 20th of November, 2019 in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, 3001 Elyria Ave, Lorain, OH 44055 from 11:30am until time of service at 1:00p.m. Pastor Gwen Gilmore will be the Eulogist.
