Vergena Wallace Obituary

Vergena G. Wallace was born July 27, 1957, in Cleveland, Ohio to the union of Edward and Ezzie Wallace.

Vergena became espoused to Willie Lucas, (Happy Choice) and to this union of love, two children, Delucas, and Karnisha was born.

Vergena was a loyal and faithful member of The Almighty Church (Oberlin, Ohio). She was anointed and received the Spiritual Name

of Peace, a name that she loved and revered, and she was eventually elevated to the Jr. Arch Power of Mercy.

Peace loved to read and participate in various Church Meetings and Services, and could always be heard singing her favorite spiritual

song, “You Ought to Be Glad”. Peace had a passion for cleaning the Church Building, and The Beulah Land Farms Home.

Vergena was a caregiver by profession and carried the torch of grace and compassion deep within her heart, which promoted the

comely spirit of caregiving within her, and as long as the chords of life lengthened, she issued out measures of Charity and Grace to

friends, community, and family.

Peace would often transport people to various locations and provide food and nourishment to those in need.

Vergena was assigned a divine task of motherhood, and along with her spouse Willie, they cared and nurtured their child Karnisha

with the special love and affection that was required.

Vergena was a loving mother figure to Willie Lucas Jr, (Bernard), Millton Lucas, Virgil Lucas, Raymond Wannamaker, and her niece

and nephew, Unity and Michael Wallace.

Vergena Peace was called from labor to her eternal reward, to join the ancestors, on April 4, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her spouse Willie Lucas, Parents: Ezzie and Edward Wallace; Sisters: Marge McElrath, Dorothy Wallace,

Christine Wallace, Gloria Wallace; and one Brother: Essex Wallace.

She leaves to cherish her memory two children, Delucas Lucas (Lorain, Ohio) and Karnisha Lucas (Oberlin, Ohio), and a host of

loved ones, family, and friends.

Mark 4: 37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.

[38] And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest

thou not that we perish? [39] And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a

great calm. [40] And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? [41] And they feared exceedingly, and said one to

another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?
