Valarie Lavern Carlton, 45, of Elyria, OH, passed away unexpectedly on March 3, 2024.
Valarie was born on October 10, 1978, to Nathanueal and Lee Vora Carlton in Elyria OH. Val received her High School diploma and her STNA from Lorain County JVS in 2020. Val worked as an STNA in the healthcare field. Val worked for Heartfelt Help Home Care as a marketing director with her sisters Renee and Natalie.
She was Foster Parent for many years. Val loved and cherished her children; Armonni, Amyj’ah, Amalik, Dejanae, Elijah and Vera. She confessed her faith in the Lord at Good Shephard Baptist Church. Val was loved by all. She was mother, a grandmother, a sister, an aunt and a bonus mother to many of the nieces and nephews in the family. She opened her doors to many without any judgment. Val enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, listening to music, getting her nails done and taking trips to Detroit with Armonni.
Valarie was preceded in death by her mother, Lee V Carlton, her father Nathanueal Carlton, her brother George Arnett and her sister Carla Arnett.
Valarie leaves behind her 6 children, Armonni, Amalik, Amayj ‘ah, Dejane, Vera and Elijah, her 2 grandchildren (Kayden and Ariel), her sisters Erma Arnett, Josephine Overall, Renee (Warren Berry), (Elyria). Janice (George Parson), Kathy Currie, Natalie, her twin (Rodney Scott), Erica Griffin (Columbus), Bernice Buchanan, Dianne Brown, Elnora Carlton, Sharon Carlton McKinney (Texas), Wanda Carlton (Baltimore), her brothers Charles Griffin (Lori), Toney Griffin, Roy Arnett (Carol), Leroy O’Neal, Fred Carlton, Nathaniel Carlton (Texas). Larry (Lydia) Carlton (Michigan), her aunts Sandra Henry (Jerry), Viola Watson and her great aunt Laverne Scott (Pete) (Arkansas) and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Your Wings Were Ready but Our Hearts were Not. She will forever be missed.

A viewing will be held on Monday March 18th, 2024, at 10am with a celebration of life to follow at 11am-12:30pm at Good Shephard Baptist Church 244 9th St Elyria, Oh.
Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery Elyria, Oh.
