James Thomas Green

James Thomas Green, 65 of Elyria transitioned into heavenly rest January 11, 2024, surrounded by his family.

James was born in Ripley Tennessee March 28th, 1958, to James and Frances Green before coming to Ohio at the age of four.

He was a self-taught Martial Art Master, and he also taught classes to anyone who wanted to learn art. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing chess, calling himself the “chess master.” He was one of the kindest, funniest, and friendliest people you could ever meet. James never met a stranger.

James will be sadly missed.

He leaves to cherish his memory Fiance’ Pamela Gaddy of Lorain, Daughter Tierra Green of Cleveland, Sons: Ricardo Green and Titus Phillips of Cleveland, Sisters: Joyce Mason of Huntsville, Alabama and Frances West (Craig), of Elyria, Ohio,  Brothers Keenan Green of Cleveland and Michael Martin of Columbus, 2 Step Sisters: Mika White of Oberlin, and Sharon Bomarc of Elyria, 9 grandchildren, very special cousins (sisters) Karen Greene, Cherisse Walker and Mary Brown, special cousin Charles Green, and special nephew Jermaine Johnson, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and other family members and friends.

James was preceded in death by his Father James Green, Mother Frances Green, Brothers: Melvyn Parker and Bennie Green, Sister Marilyn Green, and Nephews: Kevin Green, Michael Martin Jr. and Jermaine Taylor.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday January 23rd, 2024, at 10am with a celebration of life to follow at noon located at Carter Funeral Home 127 W Bridge St Elyria, OH 44035.
