Obit of Ollie M. Kilgore Ollie Mae Kilgore 76 of Elyria, went home to be with Lord on Wednesday April 5, 2017 following a long illness. She was born in Carthage, MS coming to Elyria in 1968 from Milwaukee, WI. A graduate of Green High School in Carthage, MS. She was employed in the Dietary Dept. at Elyria Memorial Hospital retiring after 30 years of service and was also a foster mother for 32 years. Ollie was a member of Bethel Church of God in Christ in Elyria, where she served as mother of the church. She was a former member of Macedonia COGIC, nurses’ guild, hospitality committee, Christian Union MBC of Carthage, MS where she as an usher and choir member. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling and spending time with her children and her loving family. She is survived by 3 daughters: Cassandra Pearson of Baltimore, MD, Shamika Kilgore and Danielle Kilgore both of Elyria, sons: Steve Kilgore, Ernest ‘Shane’ (Gina) Kilgore both of Elyria, Duran Mimms, Shawn Mimms, Matthew Kilgore, Ricky Kilgore, Naeem Kilgore, Willie Kilgore and Alex Kilgore all of Elyria, 20 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, sisters: Barnette Groves of Elyria, Rosie Mays of Detroit, MI, Patricia Vantine of Westpoint, MS, Sherry Groves of Mansfield, OH, brothers: Mosie (Dorothy) Groves of Cleveland, OH and Robert Groves of Elyria and host of nieces, nephews, foster children and other loving relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Kilgore Sr., parents Howard and Myrtis Groves, brother Sammie Groves and sister Rachel Peterson. Friends may call on Wednesday April 12, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12 noon in the Mount Zion Baptist Church, Rev. Dr. Marcettes L. Cunningham, pastor. Elder Willis Williams pastor of Bethel Church of God in Christ will officiate. Burial in Brookdale Cemetery.
