Ola Mae (Robinson) Huston was born February 8th, 1932 in Lawrence County, AL and transitioned this life on April 3, 2018. She was widow to Allen E. Huston.
Ms. Huston moved to Marion, OH in 1953. She joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She graduated from Marion Harding High School, where she was a member of the girls’ basketball team. She then moved to Oberlin, OH in 1974, where she became a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She then united with Second Baptist Church of Elyria in 1992.
She was the financial secretary at Second Baptist Church and Chairmen of the Trustee Board. She was a member of the Oberlin Negro Business and Professional Women’s’ Club and also a member of the Foreign Mission.
Ola was an employee of Marysville Women’s Prison in Marysville, OH. She was employed at Ciba Diagnostics, of Oberlin. She was a Component Assembler and and retired as a Supervisor over facility maintenance.
Ms. Huston will be sadly missed by her 2 daughters: Geraldine Sims of Marion, Glory Lawhorn of Columbus, brother: Earnest Robinson of Marion, 3 Godchildren, (nephew) Ronald (Diane) Stevenson and his children: Dominic and Christian, (niece) Denise (Chester) Hicks and Ralph (Kim) Scott and his child Toyia (Bobby) Scott-Gourley, 4 grandchildren: Terren Middlebrook, Tina Thomas, Kimberly Middlebrook and Alphonso Sims, 6 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Ms. Huston was preceded in death by parents Mr. and Mrs. Jack (Willie Lou) Robinson Sr., husband Allen E. Huston, 3 brothers Jack Robinson, L.C. Robinson and Angrus Robinson, 2 sisters, Josephine Thompson and Emma Sue Thompson, 2 grandchildren, Darren Middlebrook and Lisa Bailey.
Friends may call on Monday April 9, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. in the Second Baptist Church, 427 Chapman Lane, Elyria, OH 44035. Burial to follow in Chapel Heights Memory Gardens, Marion, OH 43302. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Carter Funeral Home, 127 West Bridge St., Elyria, OH 44035.
