Mary Harmon Seymore (nee Adams), 92, of Elyria, made her transition into a better life Friday, February 12, 2016 in her home, following a short illness. She was born in Goshen , Alabama , coming to Elyria 67 years ago from Cincinnati .

She was a member of Jones Chapel AME Church . Mrs. Seymore was employed in the Higbee’s Department Store in the Midway Mall as a cook in the Attic restaurant, where she retired after 20 years of service.

Mrs. Seymore was a member of Order of Eastern Stars Chapter #25 of Troy , Alabama , a member of Margaret Bonds Club of Elyria and she was on the Stewardess Board of Jones Chapel AME Church . She enjoyed bingo games, professional wrestling, going to church and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Seymore-Nelson; son, Willie (Ethel) Seymore of Elyria; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Lillian Rice of Troy , Alabama and a host of nieces nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie F. Seymore; three sisters and two brothers.

Friends may call Friday, February 19, 2016 in the Jones Chapel AME Church , 343 17th Street , Elyria , from 11 A.M. until time of service at 12 Noon. The Reverend Dixie Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery .
