Obituary of Mary Frances ‘Sue’ Hooks Mary Frances ‘Sue’ Hooks, 84 of Elyria passed away peacefully on July 23, 2016 the New Life Hospice of Lorain following a long illness. She was born in Luverne, AL, coming to Elyria in 1964. Mrs. Hooks was a Homemaker, a member of Second Baptist Church, Elyria where she sang in the Senior choir, The Lorain County Outreach choir and the church Kitchen committee. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, singing and spending time with family and friends. She will be sadly missed by 4 daughters: Marilyn Noble, Voncile (Jeff) Hazzard, Sharon (Anthony) Whitmore and Patriace Hooks all of Elyria, 5 sons: James (Barbara) Hooks of Elyria, Donnie (Raymie) Hooks of Cleveland, Dwayne Hooks of Elyria, Leo (Valerie) Hooks of N. Ridgeville, Demetrius (Dawn) Hooks of Lorain, 23 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 4 great great-grandchildren, a sister Mary Porter of Elyria, 3 brothers: William (Jessie) Porter, John Porter both of Elyria and Charles (Juanita) Porter of Montgomery, AL and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband Linzell Hooks, daughters: Isadorn Hooks and Brenda Hooks, parents Ennis and Dollie Mae Porter, sister Beunia Murray, brothers: Earnest Porter and Willie Porter. Friends may call Friday July 29, 2016 in the Second Baptist Church 427 Chapman Lane, Elyria, OH 44035 from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Rev. Dr. Carl P. Small officiating.
