Lula Mae ‘Ms. Lou’ Benjamin 92, of Lorain passed away peacefully in her home following a long illness. She was born in Dublin, Ga., coming to Lorain in 1950. Mrs. Benjamin was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and feeding everyone who came through her door and she was well known for her collard greens, an avid basketball fan, enjoyed word search puzzles and cross word puzzles. She is survived by 5 daughters; Willie Mae (Jordan) Battle, Frances (Benny) Adams, Beverly (Dwight) Seymore, Theresa (Ronnie) Boykin and Gayle Benjamin all of Lorain. Three sons; William Benjamin of Lorain, Herman (Christina) Benjamin of Stow and Demetrius Benjamin of Lorain. 42 grandchildren, host of great-grandchildren, great- great grandchildren. Host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband George Lee Benjamin, daughters Sheila Benjamin and Rosetta Benjamin, sons George Benjamin, Jr. and Simpson Benjamin and brother Toyie Coney. Friends may call Friday May 27, 2016 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at the Antioch PB Church 3035 Toledo Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Ernest Battle, pastor will officiate. Burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Carter Funeral Home, Inc., Lorain is entrusted with arrangements.
