Loretta “Susie” Dukes 65 of Elyria got her wings on March 10, 2018 in the Cleveland Clinic following a short illness.
She was a lifelong resident of Elyria and graduated from Elyria High School class of 1971. She was employed as an inspector at Invacare Corporation and retiring after 31 years of service and attended Mount Zion Baptist Church, Elyria.
She enjoyed gaming, spending time with grandchildren, family, and friends.
She will be sadly missed by her husband of 45 years; Howard Dukes, and son; Kevin D. (Brandy) Carter of Elyria, 5 grandsons and 1 grand-daughter, sisters; Diana Branche of LA, California, and Patricia Madison of Elyria, sister-in-law; Evalyn Johnson of Detroit, Mich., brothers; Gene (Marsha) Madison, Robert (JoAnn) Madison all of Elyria, Tyrone Madison and Kevin James both of Cleveland, Bruce Evans of Lorain, and aunt Judy Warfield-Taylor and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Joe and Beulah Madison, brother; Howard Johnson, sister; Noreen Phelps.
Friends may call Friday, March 16th 2018, in the Original Glorious Apostle Church 995 Foster Ave. From 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Doris Williams, Officiate. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Carter Funeral Homes, Inc., 127 West Bridge Street, Elyria, OH 44035. Burial in Brookdale Cemetery.
