Leon Woolfork, Sr., of Elyria, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017 at Metro Health Medical Center in Cleveland, from a short illness. He was born October 19, 1934 in Barboursville, Kentucky, to Herman Woolfork Sr. and Clara Woolfork (nee Jones).

He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and was a former employee of Spring Valley Country Club, The City of Elyria, Stanadyne Inc. and Pine Tree Construction all in Elyria. He liked watching the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) and all western TV shows and movies. He also liked watching sports and playing cards.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jean Woolfork (nee Bowen) and children, Laverne Isom and Vernon Isom both of Lorain, Leon Woolfork, Jr., Paul Woolfork, Mark Woolfork and Debra Woolfork all of Elyria and Dwayne Woolfork of Knoxville, Tennessee; he has six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brother, Herman Woolfork of Cleveland and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Woolfork Sr. and Clara (nee Jones) Woolfork; sister, Anna Dee Williams; brothers, Marvin Woolfork, Sr. and Melvin Woolfork.

Friends may call Monday, September 18, 2017 from 11 A.M. until time of service at 12 Noon in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, 127 West Bridge St., Elyria, OH 44035. The Reverend Dixie Smith of Jones Chapel AME Church will officiate. Burial to follow in Brookdale Cemetery.
