Horace Jacocks 86, of Elyria made his transition to heaven on March 27, 2017 following a long illness. He was born in Ripley, TN coming to Elyria 40 years ago. A graduate of Carver High School in Ripley and also earned an Associate’s degree in chemistry. He was employed with Elyria School System retiring after 35 years of service working in the Maintenance Dept., a Food truck driver and a cleaner. He also worked at Elyria Memorial Hospital as an Orderly. Horace accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of the Sidonia Masonic Lodge 93, F & AM of Elyria. He enjoyed gaming, watching westerns on TV and being around family and friends. He will be sadly missed by his life companion Geraldine ‘Jerry’ Rucker of Elyria, son Phillix Shaw of Chicago, IL, 2 daughters: Kimberly Ulmer of Elyria and Celeste Ulmer-Brown of Las Vegas, NV, a grandson Phillix Wynn, 10 great-grandchildren and a brother Charles. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends may call Tuesday April 4, 2017 from 6-8:00 p.m. in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, 127 West Bridge St., Elyria, OH 44035.
