Elizabeth Caroline Taylor, 88 of Elyria passed away peacefully on August 19th, 2016 Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain following a long illness. She was born in Atoka, TN coming to Elyria in 1949. Mrs. Taylor retired from Elyria Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Taylor along with her husband Superintendent Rufus Taylor pastored Greater Noel Tabernacle COGIC of Lorain and Mount Zion COGIC of Sandusky for 38 years. She was faithful to the Ministry of the churches and served in many capacities. She enjoyed singing, playing music, poetry, reading and expounding the Word of God and spending time with her family. She will be sadly missed by her beloved nieces and caregivers Vivian Noel and Yolanda Richardson. Special nieces: Laura Gill, Samella Calloway, Lisa Washington and Debra Noel. Nephews: Rickie Hightower, Bobby (Patricia) Calloway and a special cousin: Stella Taylor, her Stepchildren: Floyd Taylor and Tricia Gooden and a hosts of nieces, nephews and relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband Elder Rufus Taylor, parents George and Laura Washington, sisters: Willie Noel, Mae Briggs, Ola Adams and Bertha Calloway, brothers: Hosea, Joe and George Washington. Christian wake on Friday August 26th, 2016, from 6-8 p.m. at Greater Noel Tabernacle COGIC, 3529 Ada Ave., Lorain, OH 44055. Homegoing services on Saturday August 27th, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the Call Out – Almighty God, 7809 W. River Rd., South, Elyria, Ohio 44035. Superintendent Ross Johnson, Eulogist and Elder Rick Knight, Officiant. Burial to follow in Resthaven Memory Garden. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Carter Funeral Home, 127 West Bridge St., Elyria, OH 44035
