Eddie Lee Mitchell Jr., 64 of Elyria passed away peacefully on April 7, 2018 in the University Hospital of EMH following a long illness.
He was born in Jacksonville, FL coming to Lorain at an early age, coming to Elyria 30 years ago.
He attended AKHS and enlisted in the United States Marine Corp.
Eddie was a Chemical Dependency Counselor working with Lakeland Institute of Lorain, Laurelwood of Westlake, Psych & Psych Services of Elyria and a former Elyria City Councilman for Ward 6 of Elyria. He was also a member of Second Baptist Church of Elyria, serving on the Usher Board.
He was a baseball fan and enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns, spending time with family and friends.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 30 years Donna (nee Dean) Mitchell of Elyria, 2 sons: Garrett D. Mitchell of Elyria and Anthony L. Foster of Lorain, 4 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, step-mother: Mary Mitchell of GA, sisters: Trunetta Cooper of GA, Cheryl Thompson of OH, Phyllis Mitchell of Minnesota, Lisa Jackson of AL, Lynette Mitchell of GA, Shannon Mitchell of AL, brothers: Donny and Ronny Lipscomb of CO, Kirk Mitchell of OH and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by parents Eddie and Doris Mitchell, sisters Deborah Lusane and Tammy Lipscomb and brother Stanley Mitchell.
Family and friends may call on Friday April 13, 2018 in the Second Baptist Church, 427 Chapman Lane (16th St.), Elyria, OH 44035 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. Rev. Dr. Carl P.
