Doris L. ‘Dee’ Washington-Watkins of Norwalk went home to be with the Lord on November 25, 2017 in the Firelands Regional Medical Center of Sandusky following a sudden illness. She was born in Little Rock, AR coming to Norwalk in 1992. She attended Little Rock Vocational School to become a L.P.N. Dee was a former member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in North Little Rock and a member of Norwalk Community CME for 21 years where she served on the Missionary Board, Kitchen Committee and church secretary. Dee enjoyed doing charitable work for different organizations. She also enjoyed shopping, cooking and gardening. She will be sadly missed by her husband Grant L. Watkins, 2 daughters: Serena Washington and Cameisha Washington both of Norwalk, a son: Grant Q. Watkins of Norwalk, sister: Rebecca Lawhorn of South Carolina, brothers: Donald (Dora) Lawhorn and Laurence Ray Jones both of Lorain, James Jones of St. Louis, MO and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by parents Claude B. and Laura M. (nee Williams) Jones and her grand-cat Farrakhan. Services were held on Friday December 1, 2017 in the Carter Funeral Chapel, 3001 Elyria Ave., Lorain, OH 44055. Pastor Lydia Spragin of Canton, officiated.
