Charles “Bro” Johnson, 80, of Lorain, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, in Mercy Hospital of Lorain following a short illness.
He was born in Ellisville, Miss. coming to Lorain 50 years ago. He was employed with Ford Motor Co. Lorain Plant, retiring after 20 years of service.
He was a member of the Northern Brotherhood Motor Cycle Club as vice president of Sandusky. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing with grandchildren and his dogs and sitting on his porch to watch the cars go by.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 28 years, Mary B. Johnson of Lorain; daughters, Charlene Johnson, Katherine Redding, Elsie Johnson, Mary (Arthur) Taylor, Patricia McKinley all of Sandusky OH, Shirley Jenkins of Houston, Texas, Katrina Gates of Kentucky; sons, Ricky Jackson of Las Vegas, Nev., Robert Nobles of Chicago, William Edwards of Columbus OH; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; three sisters, Emma (Angel) Guevara, Mary Brown, both of Sandusky, Ann (Steven) Brown of Atlanta, Ga.; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Diane Wilbon, and son, Charles L. Johnson; parents, Zackary and Lenora Johnson; and two brothers, Henry P. Collins and Willie Johnson.
Friends may call Friday, March 4, in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel 3001 Elyria Ave., Lorain, Ohio, with viewing from 10 a.m. until time of service at 12 noon. The Rev. Carl P. Smalls will be officiating, with burial in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
