Obit for Charles Farris, Jr. On Friday July 15th, 2016, Charles Farris, Jr., 90 of Elyria was granted his wings. After a brief illness, he passed away at University Hospital (EMH) Medical Center. He was born on the 23rd of May in 1926 in Huntland, TN to the late Rev. Charles Farris and Willie Johnson Farris. He worked at the Elyria Foundry for 43 years before retiring. He enjoyed fishing, going for rides in his van, going to the Duck pond, his collection of rifles and was also a singer with the Jones Gospel Singers. He leaves to cherish his memories 2 daughters: Gracie Foster of Spartanburg, SC and Dina Farris of Elyria, 4 sons: Clifton Nevils, Charles E. Farris both of Elyria, Frederick Farris of Columbus, OH and Steven (Monica) Reese of Lorain, 56 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Lucille Farris, son Warren Nevils, grandson Darieon Farris and 9 siblings.
